Consultation
The following local contraindications will not prevent treatment but your therapist will avoid the contraindicated area:

Cuts/Abrasions

Bruising/Swelling
-
Scar tissue (6 months minor operation, 2 years major operation)
-
Areas where topical Roaccutane has been used
-
Undiagnosed lumps and bumps
-
Sunburn
-
Heat rash
-
Hairy Moles
-
Recent fractures (3 months)
Please seek medical advice prior to booking a waxing treatment if you have any of the following. Medical permission in writing would need to be obtained:

Check any condition that is already being treated by a GP or another practitioner

Recent operations
-
Cardiovascular conditions (Thrombosis, Phlebitis, Hypertension, Angina, Pacemakers)
-
Haemophilia
-
Medical Oedema
-
Any medication that may have an effect on skin sensitivity, condition or blood
Please do not book for a waxing treatment or reschedule if you currently have any of the following:

Taking Oral Roaccutane Medication
-
Contagious diseases (Impetigo, Scabies, Chicken Pox, Mumps)
-
Infectious diseases
-
Under the influence of (alcohol, drugs, prescribed pain medication)
-
Neuralgia
-
Hypersensitive skin
-
Loss of skin sensation
-
Vascular skin
-
Severe varicose veins
-
Fever
Pre-treatment Advice
-
Do you have any allergies, particularly to any type of resin/glue i.e. plasters, beeswax or lanolin? A patch test can offer a patch test prior to your appointment. Please call the salon to arrange

Cirepil Hot Wax can remove hair as short as 1mm although we recommend hair should be 1/4 inch long
-
Exfoliate prior to appointment

Trim hair for all bikini waxing
-
Avoid over exposure to the sun or sun bed prior to your appointment
Aftercare Advice
-
Exfoliate 3 days after treatment and between appointments to reduce ingrown hairs
-
Do not have a hot bath/shower or use a sauna, steam room or swimming pool for 24 hours
-
Do not use a sunbed or sunbathe
-
Avoid wearing tight fitting clothing over the area for 24 hours
-
Avoid touching the area excessively
-
Do not apply any perfumed or self tanning products to the waxed area for 72 hours
-
Use Cirepil Ingrown Hair Serum (available in store), daily to help prevent and eliminate ingrown hairs
